Now here are the details. Unlike the fake Kapalas on Ebay I started with a Authentic
Male Human Skull with complete dentition. The skull cap was hand cut and the entire piece is decorated with Real Sterling
Silver of various grades including jewelers grade sheet stock for complete lining of skull and cap. The skull lining has a
Gothic inspired Hand worked skeleton design with a inscribed "sunburst" effect surrounding to draw your eye and
the added textured contrast. The eyes are 22kt overlay over silver and surrounded with Sterling. Hand done deep bone carvings
are more of a Tribal design with Chinese characters on the rear quarters representing Peace, Joy, Harmony and Good Luck. The
Natural Real Gemstones representing the "Third Eye" are 2 Garnets surrounding a Golden Yellow Sapphire. The gemstone
on top of the skull cap is a large faceted Smokey Quartz. Textures were also added to various points of the silver work to
add both contrast and tactile impact. After completion the entire piece was treated with a chemical stain similar to what
is used for Bronze art and coated with several coats of a dull finish also used for Bronze finishes.
This is
one you have to see in person to get the whole impact of design and detail! As some of you might notice "my style"
is all styles. My influences are of course Tibetan but also include Gothic, Tribal, and lastly Human Anatomy with a true shape
such as the Eyes and Nose.
